Who can be interested in? Everyone: 128 new programs based on new samples is simply a must have for your triton. Why? Let me explain: I notice that many people are looking for cheaper EXB for the triton... Sample Assault gives you more then the 16 MB of a simple EXB and cover a wide range of instruments that can be very usefull for live or studio performance for any kind o music.
In first I thought to talk about the pads, they just worth the money of the purchase but Sample Assault gives you more: I don't want to talk about pads and synths of this collection like I thought about to do in first. After switching from sound to sound finally I reached a Steinway prg: I couldn't and can't still belive that in such a little RAM space there is also such a great sampled piano. I don't want to compare it with triton rom piano because Sharp Steinway would win the match in 1 second. So I thought to compare it to the EXB08... but it's still better for my taste (I create immediately a combi with the Soft Steinway program and the Hard Steinway prg... to have a double layer velocity piano that I played for half an hour before I could leave the triton and come here to write these review).
To find some faults in it I turn off all the IFX and the MFX... uh, it still resulted a great piano...
And if this isn't sufficent for you... well there are brass, woodwinds (very good for world music), strings, 2 ep samples, some vocoders too, synths, FX and tiny bells sounds that would worth a 100 pages review... are you still hear reading? If time is money... well you should live this page and go to irishacts page and buy this collection without spending other minutes in reading the next review about Vocal Assault and buy both 'cos what Sample Assault is missing are choir sounds and I'd like to challenge you to find a better choir collection then Vocal Assault without selling an eye to buy it

Ok people, This time I wanted to be bad and after a first listening to the programs based on Vocal Assault samples I decided to enter in the real heart of Sharp creation switching my triton to sampling mode: the program mode with its effects filters and eqalizers isn't a good place to watch at to write a bad review on a samples collection. So as I told I switched into sampling mode and I realized that the whole collection is sampled NOTE BY NOTE except for the big choir samples. Without talking about the hard work to loop so many samples ... sampling note by note means only one thing: Sharp has tortured some people for hours to achieve this result. My thought runs to that poor choir and people who borrow or sell (I don't know this) their voices to Mr Sharp for hours and hours of work!
The result of this is a sample set that you can use in many situations: background vocals and solo too.
Switching back to prg mode there are 63 programs that cover a whole panorama of choir, solo voices and pads for every taste. Probably this CD is intended to be bought by people in orchestral/film music but I can assure you that some of the pads are great for other kind of music (expecially for pop).
Anyway, if you like to build your program and combi this is very simple to do with Vocal Assoult samples cos change some little parameters without starting by scratch you can achieve incredible results.
A simple input... just assign to every parameter a controller to move the sounds, lpf cut off and the other control knobs work very very well too to give the sounds a still more realistic touch; add an expression pedal and you'll have a real choir and voices at your service!

What's this? Vocal Assault 2 is a great free update for every Vocal Assault user. Why this update? Well, new perfect looping points and also some bonus new programs for lazy person or newbies who don't want or don't have the time to create their own programs. Not enough? Well THERE ARE TWO NEW MULTISAMPLES!
Now I can say that this work is PERFECT.
A little note on why I wrote this review on my site: Triton keyboard is becoming old but since Korg keep in contact with us on forums, till there will be people like Sharp, till there will be comunities like Irishacts and forums like Tritonhaven, till there will be resources for our great keyb... well, Triton will remain one of the great keyboard of the planet and I want to make my contribute for its growth and developement.
